Who Is Your Inner Social PR Superhero

The other month on Twitter, a tweet popped up where I could take a quiz and learn about my Social PR Superhero. I clicked the link and discovered I was Wonder Woman — at least according to this particular quiz.

I could then sign up for a free, live, online mini training (“The Social PR Launchpad”) to learn more about the strengths and opportunities around my persona, which were presented through a framework that Shonali Burke created.

“I came to incorporate specific elements in my work over and over again,” Shonali explains. “I realized that I had the makings of a framework here; thus the 7C Social PR Framework™ was born.”

“I was amazed at how quickly forward-looking pros embraced it,” she adds. I’m one of those people. While the Launchpad has concluded, there will be additional opportunities to participate. In the meantime, you can download at no cost an e-guide Shonali created.

I asked her in a Skype conversation how she created the quiz because I found it to be spot on for me. She explained that she had a lot of prep work to do. She researched how Buzzfeed puts its quizzes together and also looked at software to use. She knew the framework the quiz needed to map to so she took those prongs and worked backwards.

“I wanted to make it as fun and engaging as possible,” said Shonali, who worked hard on the questions and traits.

That required hours of research on super heroes. For her purposes, Shonali focused on super heroes. “There were lots of interesting villains, but I couldn’t create those personas,” she said.

Once she had her superheroes, she could relate their qualities to the training she was offering, 7C Social PR Framework™ Blueprint for Success.

“It’s a lot of fun and a lot of hard work,” Shonali noted. “I like doing things that help move our profession forward.”

And I like learning how I can improve my skills. For example, I learned that Wonder Woman can and will do what is needed, and is guided by her conscience. That’s a good fit for a spokesperson, for example.

However, as with any persona, there also are areas that can be enhanced. For me, unleashing my creativity is one such area. The webinar highlighted ways I could do that such as introducing flexibility into my routine and making creativity a habit.

My blog is one way I work on my creativity. I have to think of good topics, find sources and often identify a creative way to illustrate the post. It’s a labor of love. Scrapbooking is another way I work on my creativity.

If you want to learn about your Inner Social PR Superhero, you should take the quiz. Then you can match your persona to the Framework and download the e-guide. And for a deeper dive into the 7C Framework, read Shonali’s post.

After you take the quiz, would you post in the comment section, which superhero persona you are and how close you think it fits?
