Cynthia Price describes herself as a life-long learner and explorer. She began her career as a newspaper reporter and then launched a business magazine for the Federal Reserve CPBank of Richmond. She spent a decade as spokesperson for an urban police department. She also traveled the globe as communications director for ChildFund International and directed media and public relations for a university.

She is a past president of National Federation of Press Women and Virginia Press Women (now Virginia Professional Communicators) and the 2012 NFPW Communicator of Achievement, the highest honor bestowed on a member.
